Kyle Pierce, EdD, CSCS, is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Health Science and Director of the USA Weightlifting Center for High Performance and Development at Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He trains able-bodied weightlifters and disabled powerlifters and was named the United States Olympic Committee Weightlifting Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, and 2010.

Dr. Pierce has conducted significant amount of research in block periodization.
