How Pro compares to other lifting apps

Boostcamp Pro costs more per year than Hevy Pro or Strong PRO, and it doesn't offer a lifetime plan. What's different is the free tier: Hevy and Strong cap how many routines you can save for free, while Boostcamp's free tier has no program cap and includes a full library of coach-designed programs. AI coaching apps cost more and have no permanent free tier.

Do you need Pro?

Stay on free if
  • You're following a program from the free library (GZCLP, 5/3/1, nSuns, PHUL, Reddit PPL and most other popular programs are free).
  • You're a beginner. None of Boostcamp's beginner programs need Pro.
  • You build your own programs and just want to log them. The builder is free with no cap.
Pro is worth it if
  • You want the full Strength Score breakdown: the 0-100 score is free, and Pro adds Level, Max and Balance views across 13 lifts in five categories (squat, deadlift, horizontal press, vertical press and pull), adjusted for bodyweight and age.
  • You manage weekly volume per muscle and want the Muscle Tracker heatmap to spot under-trained areas.
  • You want one of the 20+ Pro-exclusive coach programs, or a starter plan built for you from a questionnaire.

Frequently asked questions

Is Boostcamp really free?

Yes. The 14,000+ program library (including 99 of the 132 coach-designed programs), the full workout tracker, exercise demos, RPE logging, personal records, and the custom program builder are free with no trial period and no cap on how many programs you run or build. Rest timers are free with no usage cap, and the plate calculator includes 10 free uses (unlimited with Pro). Boostcamp Pro is optional.

How much does Boostcamp Pro cost?

Boostcamp Pro is $59.99 per year, which includes a 7-day free trial, or $14.99 per month. The annual plan works out to about $5 a month, roughly 67% less than paying monthly for a year. Both plans cancel anytime through your Apple ID or Google Play account.

What do I lose if I don't pay?

The analytics layer and the exclusive programs: the Strength Score Level, Max and Balance views, the Muscle Tracker per-muscle volume heatmap, Auto Progression, Exercise Analytics and Training Trends, personalized programs built from a questionnaire, and 20+ Pro-exclusive coach programs (32 of the 132 coach programs are Pro-only). Everything you need to follow a program and log your training stays free.

Is Boostcamp Pro more expensive than Hevy or Strong?

Yes, for the paid tier. Hevy Pro is $23.99/year and Strong PRO is $29.99/year, versus $59.99/year for Boostcamp Pro, and both offer lifetime plans that Boostcamp doesn't. The difference is in what's free: Hevy and Strong cap how many routines you can save on their free tiers, while Boostcamp's free tier has no program cap and includes a full library of coach-designed programs, so many lifters never need to pay at all.

Is Boostcamp cheaper than AI coaching apps?

Yes. JuggernautAI is $349.99/year and MacroFactor Workouts is $71.99/year, and neither has a permanent free tier. Boostcamp Pro is $59.99/year, and its program library runs free without it. The trade-off is that those apps adapt your plan more closely to your logged performance, while Boostcamp's library programs are proven templates; Boostcamp Pro adds Auto Progression (linear progression, double progression and missed-rep adjustments).

Does the free trial charge me automatically?

The 7-day free trial is on the annual plan. Trials are managed through your Apple ID or Google Play account, and you can cancel during the trial without being charged. If you cancel Pro later, your account drops back to the free tier and your training history stays.

What happens to my data if I stop paying for Pro?

Nothing is deleted. Your logged workouts, personal records, and the programs you built yourself stay in your account, and you keep using the free tracker and library. Only the Pro features (Strength Score Level, Max and Balance views, Muscle Tracker, Auto Progression, advanced analytics, personalized programs and Pro-exclusive programs) stop being available.

Start free. Upgrade only if you want the data.

Download Boostcamp on iOS or Android, pick a program and start logging. Pro is there if you ever want Auto Progression, the Strength Score views and the Muscle Tracker.
