The Boostcamp Community and workout sharing
A feed of friends' workouts and published programs, with follows, reactions, comments, visibility controls and share cards for stats, PRs and milestones.
What is the Boostcamp Community?
Boostcamp's Community tab is a social feed of workouts and published programs from people you follow, with reactions, comments, private profiles and per-workout visibility. When you finish a workout, you can also turn it into a share card for your stats, PRs, muscles worked, week streak or a milestone, and post it anywhere. Both are free.

How the Community and workout sharing work
- 1
Finish a workout
When you finish a workout, it's posted with your default visibility: Everyone, Followers, or Only Me, which keeps workouts off the feed. The share screen then opens with cards built from that session, and you can change the visibility for that workout before you post.
- 2
Pick a share card
Swipe through a photo card with duration, volume and records, a volume card, a workout receipt, a muscles card and any PR, streak, milestone or Strength Score cards. Cards only appear when they apply: one Record card for each PR, a streak card if you have a week streak, a Strength Score card if your score went up.
- 3
Post it or save it
Post to the Community feed with a photo, caption and visibility, share straight to Instagram Stories, use your phone's share sheet, or save one card or all of them to your photos.
- 4
Follow people and programs
Find People searches by display name or username. Private profiles approve follow requests before anyone sees their posts. Published programs show up in the feed with a Save Program button.
- 5
React and comment
React to posts, comment and reply. Notifications cover new followers, follow requests, reactions, comments, replies and streak and workout milestones.
- 6
Stay in control
Hide or report posts and comments, and block accounts. Blocked accounts can't follow you or see your posts.
Does training with others help you stay consistent?
Training with others, whether with a gym partner or through a shared workout feed, helps many lifters stay consistent because it adds accountability, encouragement and a record that other people can see. It is not required for progress, and how much it helps varies from person to person.
The usual explanation is simple: a plan that someone else knows about is harder to quietly skip. Many coaches also point to the value of small, regular feedback. A reaction or comment after a session is a reminder that the work was noticed, and seeing friends train on their own schedules can make training feel like a normal part of the week rather than a chore.
Sharing has trade-offs. Comparing your numbers with stronger or more experienced lifters can be discouraging, and some people simply prefer to train privately. A useful rule of thumb is to share with the people whose support you actually want, at the level of detail you are comfortable with, and to compare yourself mainly with your own earlier workouts.
In Boostcamp, sharing is optional and adjustable: each workout can be visible to Everyone, only your Followers or Only Me, and a share card only leaves the app when you choose to post or save it.
Boostcamp share cards and when each one appears
The share screen opens after you finish a workout. The Post card, a preview of your Community post, is always first; the cards behind it depend on what happened in that session. A milestone or a Strength Score increase is moved to the front.
| Card | What it shows | When it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Post | A preview of your Community post, with photo, caption, duration and date you can edit | Every workout |
| Photo | Your photo with duration, volume and number of records | Every workout |
| Volume | Duration, volume, number of exercises and records | When the workout has volume above zero |
| Receipt | A receipt-style summary of the session | When the workout has logged sets |
| Muscles | The muscles the workout trained | When the workout's exercises have muscle data |
| Record | One personal record, one card per PR | For each exercise with a new PR in that workout |
| Milestone | Your total workout count | On your 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, 100th, 250th, 500th, 1,000th, 2,500th, 5,000th and 10,000th workout |
| Streak | Your week streak | When you have a week streak |
| Strength | Your Strength Score and how much it rose | When this workout raised your Strength Score |
Workout visibility options
| Setting | What it means in the app |
|---|---|
| Everyone (default) | Workouts will be visible to all users on Boostcamp |
| Followers | Workouts will only be visible to people who follow you |
| Only Me | Workouts won't be posted to your feed |
Tips for using Community
- Set your default visibility first Choose Everyone, Followers or Only Me in Default Workout Visibility before your first workout, so nothing is posted more widely than you intended.
- Use Followers for a small accountability group Keep a private profile and set visibility to Followers, then approve only training partners or friends. Your workouts reach the people who will notice when you skip a week.
- Share the card that tells the story A single Record card is clearer than a full receipt when the news is one PR. Save the receipt or Volume card for sessions where the total work is the point.
- Follow people running programs you're curious about Published programs appear in the feed with a Save Program button, so following lifters whose training you like is a low-effort way to find your next program.
- Comment on specifics A comment about a lifter's actual set or PR is more useful than a generic reaction, and replies keep the conversation in one thread.
